I hate my school
There are way too many smart people at my school. It's really making me mad. At one of the school's I almost went to, anybody with any sense(i.e. half of the people here) could have been valedictorian. At my school, I took more damn AP classes than anyone else(except for our valedictorian, who actually is a smart person), but I ended up as 11th in the class. 8 of the people above me weren't really incredibly smart - they just took some really easy classes and kept a 4.0 unweighted GPA. I took the hardest classes in the school and got A's and B's in them, but because of my school's crappy weighting system, they ended out ahead of me. I had a damn 4.461 and I was 11th in my senior class. That's just damn insane. The only actually smart people that took difficult classes were the top 3.
This is just some ranting - disregard if you could care less. I just felt like getting this out. At least I'm off at college next year. |

you're not alone. the valedictorian at my high school last year had a 5.3 weighted average.

I think mine ended up with a 4.8, or something. I had better grades than him in some of the classes that we took together, too.

It's the same thing at my school. The weighted GPA system is all screwed.
A weighted 4.461 GPA is pretty damn good, though. I barely got a 4.0 weighted GPA this year. |

Yeah, it is good. I'm just really damn surprised that I wasn't in the top 10 of my class of 492. I had 14 credits of AP classes, which should correspond to about 40 semester hours at college(sophomore standing hopefully). I should be getting my AP scores back soon, and since that's all that really matters now that I have gotten in to my college, everything should be good.

I'm surprised any schools can even do weighted grades. Our classes were 5.0 if they were advanced, but they averaged it into a 4.0 total GPA. I still didn't do very well
But college was a lot better. I think I applied myself more in college, though - I actually started caring, plus I actually enjoyed my classes because I got to pick them.<offtopic>When I opened this thread, I got a little timer thingy at the bottom of my screen, what's that all about? I had it in another thread yesterday, too. Does someone have a weird sig or something?</offtopic> |

Your right, it's the animatrix advert that is triggering the counter thingy, another reason to not like the matrix.
Solution, use another forum style sheet, those big ass banner ad's don't appear on the other styles, only on default. The other styles still have banners, just not great huge ones that span the screen.. |
