Advice on getting listeners

Ok, I have been doing my radio show for about 8 months now. And I have learned quite a bit from dooing it, but I still get barely about 3 listeners. I am wondering what am i doing wrong. Everybody that listens to the show enjoys it. Can anybody give a suggestion?

my opinion

That in it's very sense is why you are having listener problems. First, figure out what demographic your show pertains too. Then, see what times you are broadcasting your show. A lot of the time, the times you are broadcasting, are the times your demographic can't listen. For example, teens during the school year, more than likely 7 AM - 4 PM they can't tune in. Not only that, but also look at your show format. Is it in any formal intelligent structure. Do you not just randomlly talk? Back in the day when I did a weekly show, I'd record the shows, and give them a listen. I'd improve on what I thought could be better. This may be internet radio bro, but the same rules apply, no one will listen to something that is:

1) not consistent to their personality
2) not broadcasting when they can listen
3) can't understand the show

Another thing, make it accessible for people to listen in to some of your past shows, ie. on demand. If people tune in when you are off, they will come back when you are live.

Just remember, take the above thoughts into consideration, and get the word out! Hope this helps!

I disagree dexter, for late night shows some times it is good to not make any sense, since most of the people liscening at those times like that kind of stuff.

hey Crab

Did anyone say anything about Late Night Shows? I was just saying review his demographic, if it is a late night show live, then maybe people would listen if it was a weird show. As far as we know though, it's just a weird show at anytime of the day.

"This topic have been around a lot of other time!!"

You shouldent say whats wrong or right (Dexter) to get more listners.
It's over 200 hundred miljon just in the U.S.A! and evry singel one have diffrent needs in time when the work, are on holliday, go to school or do any other activities. And many country have there own time zoons, so it is inposible to say somthing when the best time is to run a show.

Take a old addvice!!
1 MAKE a "log" evry time your up
2 Take a closly look what people like or not
3 try at the afternoon, morning, evning or night

The let it go for a month or 2 and see whats best.
You have do all counting from the (results) and go from there too see whats best for you.

-And after you can spend more time to you listners and make good show for them. A webbsite it's not a bad idee ither, whith suggestions and plans on what you gone send.

See pepperts signature for a graph of SHOUTcast community and AOL-hosted total concurrent listeners, for the past 24 hours.
