Web Page Pet Peeves

Like a lot of people on the Internet, I surf around a lot. I've seen Web pages that are thoughtfully planned and well put together. I've also seen some pages that make me want to puke!
What are your pet peeves regarding Web pages? Do you have links to some really raunchy sites?
Some of my pet peeves include:
  • Fucked up midi music. It's worse if you can't turn it off!
  • Text that's hard, if not impossible to read.
  • Mistakes in spelling and grammar.
  • Links that don't fucking work!

* background music
* pictures in the background that aren't smooth / watermark-y (makes text hard to read)
* most of the font in times new roman
* Bright colors, no good color scheme
* Lots of random pictures
* Lack of organization
Mostly what everybody else said
(I don't mind frames if they are done extraordinarily well)
* pop-up ads or any other ad that opens in a new window and interferes with my viewing of the webpage

I guess it would depend on the webpage

http://www.thevideodudes.com/ << this just irritates me, the menu never stops moving unless you really try to stop it.

http://www.angelfire.com/games5/kakarotto/Main.html << ugly interface as well as background midi, just to make sure that I realize that I don't want to be here.

mostly though I use a proxy called proximitron to block popups and unwanted content (i.e unwanted embedded media) from making it to my browser.

I know I am just a beginner at coding, so please excuse the mistakes here, but what do you think of my new site? It's an HTML re-do of the old Escaflowne On Cloud 9, and if it's annoying, please tell me!

1. MIDI music annoys me. I hate it. Never use it unless you want me to shut your page immediately and not ever look at it and reccommend others not to look at it.

2. Annoying colours. CLASH! http://www.lissaexplains.com for HTML -- good HTML help site but I can only stay on it for 3 minutes max. I mean LOOK at it!

I don't mind black backgrounds as long as I'm still able to read the text. I get really annoyed at sites with super bright colors, and too many things flashing at me. I'm also starting to get annoyed with these sites that have "vote for my site" all over. It also pisses me off to click on a link and have that page say "Under Construction" with one of those tacky fucking construction worker images on it. If that page isn't done, then don't fucking upload it!

I don't mind pages that resize when they load, as long as it's not maximizing. I can't stand it when a page automatically maximizes itself.

Damn...Can't please everyone, I guess...

I can't find myself using any other font besides TMR (Aside from Arial)...

•Pages with multi-color/font text
•Fonts that aren't readable since they don't contrast with the background color
•Un-orginized sites
•Random images spread out everywhere
•Dead/b0rked links
Frequent grammar/spelling/punctuation mistakes...Note the "frequent" code word, since no one's entirely perfect, but it can get annoying to read if it happens alot, and can really make you look like a dumbass (Broken English speakers need not imply)...
•BGMs (Especially MIDIs)
•Pop-ups, although that's not much of a problem for me... *praises the "Disable Pop-Ups" checkbox on the top of his browser*

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

Nope, I see nothing wrong with this picture. His AVS presets suck horribly mainly because they are unoriginal and very basic. It is very easy to create AVS presets like that and to experienced AVS'ers, they are about as good as his site.

I agree with a lot of what other people have already said here, so I won't repeat.

Another thing that ticks me off is images that have been nearest-neighbor resized!

Argh! You'd think people would learn how to use PSP or PhotoShop!

Akuso: A moving background? You should be shot. No offense, of course.

Things that piss me off on websites:
-Text that's too small to read at high resolutions
-Animated GIFs (Honestly, they look like shit)
-Guestbooks
-Animated backgrounds (of course)
-Frames (unless they're inline frames, in which case they rule)
-Poorly done Flash
-Any sounds whatsoever
-Anyone trying to copy Maddox (http://maddox.xmission.com)

What I really hate...

is wbsts tht rfr in txt, usng as fw vwls s pssbl.
NE1 who rfrs 2 othrs in txt dsrvs 2 B sht t dwn

(this last bit may be a bit ambiguous, for some it may say "Shot at dawn"(92%), for some it may say "Shit at dawn(giggle)"(7%) and for those who cannot spell it may say "Shat/Shut/Shet at dawn." For our scottish audience, it may say "Shite at dawn". Its not the message, its how you read it.

In English(US and UK): is websites that refer in text using as few vowels as possible. Anyone who refers to others in text deserves to be shot at dawn.

Hate popups, Incorrect/bad code on HTML, it just really gets to me, also backgrounds that are pictures, and not lightened a bit, Disorganized, or bad links, Broken and missing pictures, mislabeled things, rude, scrolling pop-ins, sites on Geocities, or links that lead to dead or 404 pages.

LOL! This has to be some of the funniest things I heard yet.

But all in all,I hate....

-Sites that secretly use tracking cookies for evil.
-badly used Active X promotions(Gator anyone)
-Ancient graphics, Why in the hell are they stil using ms paint?!
-Useless, Cluttered pages. You need Sherlock Holmes just to find a link that works.
-Extra long load times. Flash heavy sites are not immune.
-Sites that rarely updates its content. WINAMP.COM,YOUR ON THE LIST!

Bad links, 100000000 pop-ups, pages with music that start automatically/those that don't give you the option to shut the music off, images that are too big/unclear. Pages with people who think I really want to know about the daily going's on in their little worlds.

I am so important I feel the need to let it be known like a liberal discovering the internets for the first time. Uh hur hur hur. I also wash myself with a rag on a stick.

I forgot to add: any page that tries to make you download some stupid spyware program before it lets you view the content (be that warez or porn, it's still damn annoying), and any page that automatically changes your browser's home page (like someone, I forget who, already said). This is why I use Opera for normal browsing and IE for warez/porn/whatever when I think that there's a good chance that I'll get some malicious cookie planted on my browser (this includes checking my Hotmail account ).
