All free hosting sucks. They're either unreliable but offer a lot, or reliable and really restrictive. Sometimes they're unreliable and restrictive, it's a ploy to get you to sign up for their paid accounts, and to be honest i cant say i blame them. Bandwidth costs money.

Unless you've got a friend with their own server then there's not much you can do except pay for it or set up your own server.

http://www.webhost2.com are my host. They've been great, extremely reliable, good support staff and basically every feature you want for US$50 a year (for 500mb/10gb).

I'd setup and run my own server, but on a 28k connection there's no point.

If your using broadband, just host your own site..

www.google.com > phpDEV look for the sourceforge page on it.

PHP\APACHE\MYSQL installer.

www.hasweb.com is good, I use them for one of my audio-tracker servers.
my regular sites are hosted by ecphosting.net (they're a lil expensive but good)

30KB/s upload (your download), 150KB/s download (your upload)

OK, it may not make a good mass file server but it IS a great www/image/mp3/mail/small file server. And it's free

My fast broadband connection will handle some sort of server capabilities. For now I'm just using it for the internet.

I know who I'd recommend Awesome service Aj Stone . Excellent service. 100mb's free/unlimited bandwidth/own log-in/php/data-base support .....

I can cater for small 5mb accounts for hosting Av's, Sig's etc (Contact via e-mail for details) Theres 10 blocks of 5mmb's available for winamp members, with own log-in etc (Could extend to 10 for a small site)

Best place I've found for the cheapest domain names was http://www.centralinfo.net and there hosting plans are quite good. They haven't long ago upgraded all there server's either.(Beginning of the year they did it I think).

I use www.addr.com $7.95/month and they have PHP and DB I'm not sure if they support ASP (never used it) but they might. Also www.your-site.com is really cheap ($5.00/month) and pretty reliable from what I've heard.
