zaeger.com - post your review

hey, i just finished my first html website. i made one other a few months ago in flash and it was ok, but i wanted to see if i could learn html too. so here it is, www.zaeger.com. im not doing this to promote my site, i know not a whole lot of people are going to read this, and even less are going to care, but i think critizism from the winamp forumers is just as good as critizism from anywhere else. so tell me what you think, is the design ok, is it too dark, etc. keep it constructive and please, be gentle.

Nice design, but I have a couple of problems with it:
1. The dark red text can be hard to read. I don't want to have to put my head up 2" from the monitor.
2. The actual area where you have everything is only about 1/3 of the width of my screen. That means that there is a ton of border space on each side. That doesn't look so great.
3. There's no three that I can think of right now.

Good design, but i think the above needs to be fixed.

I really like the design. I'll have to agree with the border thing though, But that's the only thing I don't like.

i close my eyes to stay blind

The red and greys' values are WAY to close for any hope of legibility.

Nice design, but the red text does not contrast enough with the background grey.

Ditto on the red text thing. Also, there are no skins in the skin section.

You've got all this space on the page. Don't be afraid to use it! Like everyone else said, use bigger fonts and get rid of the red text. I like the lay out. Once it's large enough to see, it'll be easy to use and easy to navigate. I like your entrance page. It's stylish without being garish.

Trust me, your uber-stylish miniature font isn't as stylish as you would think. Please make it legible. Other than that it's a nice style and design, good work.

I don't know if this was your intention, but the viewing area looks like a winamp skin. Far too much wasted space on the sides and it's hard to read the red text, but that's about it. Good job!

You've got some good stuff on your site. Good design, but like most everyone said, the text is a bit hard to read.

wow, awesome, thanks guys. i was working today so i just got home, no time to fix anything, im dead tired. but tommorow, heh, i gots some work to do. i didnt realize everything looked so bad with res higher than 1024x768. im usually at 1200x1024 (my pitiful max) but i needed a break for a while. i kept the site design small because i dont have a lot of content yet, but im gonna have to whip up something, learn how to make scalable tables or something. anything. give me a week, and with all the critizism in mind, much will be fixed.
