The end of an era maybe? Be fairly sad if it is, there is just something about a good old fashioned vinyl 12", I just can't see a CD DJ being as well, err cool? Whadya think?, anyone spin for a living in here? |

I don't spin, but I can seeing records finally going away in maybe 10-15 years. I recently went to see BT and he did his whole set from his laptop where he can instantly do effects and changes and other stuff to the music, swap out beats etc..
basically creating a remix on the fly. It was very cool. |

I don't think CD's could ever replace records, but electronic mixers/scratchers like my DM2 turntables will probably be the future as I see it.

I was born into the CD age (well... a few years before they where mainstream). And I have a vinyl fetish of sorts. I just like them, none of that fancy-ass "digital audio", Just good ol sounding music. I think they sound very close the same in any saine listening setup, and if they are scratched (vinyl is, not the act of mixing), it just adds a little something to the music, more life, a face, warmth, not a cold digital sound.
I could never see them dieing off, just going even more back undergound. |
