Pics of Stereos

Post pictures of your stereo here, give some specs for it aswell. if you dont have pics the post specs of it. Just wondering what other people are using.
Amplifier
http://images.deviantart.com/i/2/c/9/My_Amplifier.jpg
This is my amplifier.
Specs: rough.
31 volt +/- rails
100 watts peak
50 watts RMS
25 volt toroidal transformer
99.8 dB at a measuring distance of 1 meter.
My dad used this amp when he was 16 (he is now 47). He bought a kit and built it himself. We had to put a new transformer in it because the other one would shake the lid and get quite hot.
Left Speaker
http://images.deviantart.com/i/3/e/3/Left_Speaker.jpg
The left speaker of my stereo, with a model of a WRC WRX on top hehe.
Specs:
99.8 dB measured from 1 meter away from the speaker.
8" woofer ans 2" piezo tweeter.
Me and my dad made the two boxes over a weekend.
Right Speaker
http://images.deviantart.com/i/4/9/d/Right_Speaker.jpg
The right speaker of my stereo.
Specs:
99.8 dB measured from 1 meter away from the speaker.
8" woofer ans 2" piezo tweeter.
Me and my dad made the two boxes over a weekend.

All this with WinAmp 2.95 and a pentium 2 (233mhtz).Playing 1235 mp3's over a TCP/IP nome network.

Post links instead of huge ass pictures next time please, think of the kids on dial up

Same goes for anyone else following this thread, links are preferable to direct img links.

Thanks.

Respect! That's a nice set-up by any standards. The EQ looks a bit intimidating, I'd have to crank-up the treble big-style (to get the most out of synth sounds).

I can't post any pictures yet (no digital cam). However, rest assured I have amps & floor speakers all over the place. Cd's in my place are obsolete, it's entirely playlists.

You think that EQ looks imtimidating? Look at my dads EQ he has two EQ one for L and R speakers. The EQ's have 28 channels on them 31.5 hertz to 16k hertz, i cracked a window with that stereo. Pics coming tomorrow.

You think that's an EQ? This is an EQ . Nice setup .

My setups (!):
At computer (pic):
- M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard.
- Phonic MM1705 Mixer (not stunningly good - the stereo faders are shite quality, but it was cheap ).
- Sennheiser HD600 Headphones (bought at a bargain price).

Other setup (not currently plugged in because I can't be bothered):
- JVC amp, 4x75Wrms.
- 2x Stage monitor speakers that we picked up cheap off the back of a lorry (literally). But they're good.
- 2x Custom speakers - vintage 1975 Tannoy Monitor Gold dual concentric drivers in feindishly heavy blockboard cabinets, made by my dad. These are some of the best-sounding speakers I've ever heard.

For long you live and high you fly, but only if you ride the tide, and balanced on the biggest wave you race towards an early grave.

Well, he helped me make mine, so he thinks its great. It puts out 99.8dB which is quite good, and thats not at full volume, and that was measured at a distance of 1 meter. The amp was originally his.

My new stereo equipment...

As you can see, it accommodates 5 people.

One slight drawback - it only plays Stereolab - but that's not a drawback at all really. Cost was £12,000. Not cheap but worth it.

I quite fancy the Tecnics X37 range.

It has a 80GB HD for one (rip the CD's or connect to your PC). Also, a rather stylish design.....

I don't have my digital camera with me right now, so I'll just post a few pics from the sites. I'll post my pics a little later.

My speakers are Onkyo speakers, 33x22 inches.
http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=...ss=Nettune&p=i

My amp is a Bose system, holding my Onkyo speakers and my Bose speakers. I can't find a pic of it, but once I get my camera I will.

I have an Onkyo Net-Tune system for FM & AM radio and my computer's music (routed through the Net-Tune feature). That's in the picture of my Onkyo speakers as well.

no shit, Sherlock! There's no way in hell those speakers are 33 * 22 inches. According to the specs on the receiver that's between those speakers it's only 3 9/16" tall. Those speakers are barely twice as tall as the receiver so that means they're only around 8" tall. You're full of shit and I'm calling you on it.

General

Dimensions (W x H x D) 8 1/16" x 3 9/16" x 11"

Not to but in here, but are you sure it's the right pic? Grumpy just listed the website dimensions, and they are not 33x22 inches. They are bookshelf speakers. I have a pair of JBL S38II's and they are huge for bookshelf speakers. (17x11x12, L-H-D) 33x22 is just huge, and that pic does not show 33x22 inch speakers.

Here's a pic of my equipment rack (excuse the mess of cables and cd's):

On the very top shelf are 3 components (from top to bottom): Midiman Flying Cow a/d and d/a convertor, NAD 1600 preamp/tuner, Parasound PL/D 2000 preamp

2nd shelf: Midiman CO3 digital format convertor(small silver box on top of dvd player), Toshiba SD-5109 dvd player

3rd shelf: Philips cd recorder (usually the Sony MD deck sits on top of that)

4th shelf: Sony PCM-R300 DAT deck

5th shelf: empty in this pic but either my Fostex DAT or my Akai reel to reel sit there.

What the hell is wrong with you grumpyBB, I really don't like you, I've seen some of your posts in threads, your mean, I don't like you, and you, and I say this as nice as possible; bastard.

Now this is the projected set-up.
My dad used to do mixing for a bands, he scaored speakers out of this, AR speakers.
They are american made, imported to here. They are very nice, because the box specs are right and the box material is thick chip-board.

===========
Box specs
There is two boxes.
Height: 30"
Width: 14"
Depth: 11"
Wood thickness: 2"
===========
Speakers
Woofers: Two each box. 8" carbon fiber cones. 180watts peak. 110 watts RMS
===========
About companies and power advertisements. Many companies put e.g. 200watts peak with big logos. The reality is that amps cannot run constantly at 200watts. Something like a big drum-beat will push it up to 200watts for how ever long that beat lasts. It all depoends on the music thats being played.
============
Midranges: One each box. 8". You don't see manny mids quoted as 8", the max ones you buy for domestic use are aroung 6" at tops. But when you looks at the frequency response graphs for some woofers you will find that they can perform at midrange frequencies.

Tweeters: One each box. 2" Vida tweeters.

Amplifier
900watts peak
400watts RMS
180 volt +/- rails.
Two 100 volt tordial transformers.

Equalizer
28 channels.
16+/- dB options.
There is onr for left ang right channels.
We also run through one of the tape decks, because it has a parametric equalizer.

Hardware
Record player
Two tape decks
CD player
Pre-amp

Now we are going to add my speakers and amp.

And we are also adding a 12" poly cone sub-woofer.Well make boxes for those.

Nice walkman swag

My stereo and my pc are in different rooms so I can't hook them up without investing in an awful lot of cable. So i plug my pc into an old 60W Sharp hi-fi unit. It's not great, but I'm only playing mp3's through it so who gives a fuck...
