Who wants 3,786 fonts?

I'm sure many of you remember the thread "How to handle 3000 fonts on your system. You tell me." Well, I just thought I'd be nice and send this massive collection of fonts (brought to you by dafont.com) to anyone who wants it.

PM me your AIM, MSN or Yahoo screen name and I will IM you and send you the 87.5MB zip file containing all the fonts. Do the same if you have a server you wish to host the file on.

What I've done with the fonts since downloading them from the above thread is: I extracted the contents of the hundreds of zip files, deleted the extra non font files (i.e. text files and images), organized the fonts in alphabetical order (many where out of place), deleted any non "ttf" or "otf" font types, and have kept the collection up to date with any newly added fonts from dafont.com (so far there as been a few hundred additions).

I'd like to give a big thanks to 31337-2k2 for downloading the original 3,000 some fonts and Liquid Motion for being nice enough to host the massive zip a few months back for everyone to download.

P.S. I really would rather not send this zip file to anyone using dial-up. That would take a very very long time. So please, only cable/dsl and faster modems. I myself have a cable modem with a 256Kbps (Kilobits per second) upload speed which translates to roughly 30KBps (KiloBytes per second), incase anyone was wondering.

That sounds like a good candidate for a bittorrent or shareaza/edonkey hashes. Use swarming downloads to prevent bandwidth misuse

yup, I Know. I'm on their mailing list, so I get an email when ever there are new fonts added. That latest batch of new fonts are included in the zip

I've know of bittorrent and what it basically does and is used for but I myself have never used it. I'll look into it tomorrow or late tonight.

Hey you deserve the most praise. You were responsible, after all, for getting the first 3,000 some fonts downloaded

I'm just doin my part of keep em up to date and organzied.

Anyways, everyone, the zip containing the fonts will be up on Viper007Bond's server in about 25 minutes. I'll make a new post with the download location when it is ready.

sure as hell high, I am getting the fastest d/l I have gotten in a long time!
..... oh.... it just went down to average (27Kbs, I have 256kb/s upload speeds, so aobut a 31Kb/s max)

Download speed can vary. I've had friends get about 900 KB or so, but it averages around 150 to 200 KB/s.

no hard feelings but that bandwidth is kinda crappy.... the download speed is good though

i get limited on tripod but on jaywebdesigns i have unlimited bandwidth and thats where everyone can download my game for free without interferance

umm... That is CHEAP for that bandwidth. His server is on quality bandwidth, true unlimited does not exist, if you use a ton im sure they wont host you anymore. my old host used to say "unlimited" but its really 5gb limit. Also, his server loads way faster for me then jaywebdesigns.
