Shoutcast Problems on XP
I used to use win 2k, and Shoutcast worked fine. Now that I switched to XP, it doesn't work anymore. Whenever I click on one of the station links, it asks me if I want to download the playlist file.
Anyone experienced similar problems, or know how to fix this? |

Did you try to download Winamp before you tried clicking on a station link?

Thank DJHotIce, but I'm not getting the same errors as they are.
Still, it might be as you say. I did a bit of searching, but I'm not sure how to disable the built in firewall. sorry, excuse my n00biness.... EDIT - Yes, I have the latest version of Winamp. |

This isn't a firewall issue.
It's a pls file file association issue. Is the pls file extension associated with Winamp? |

It's under the preferred media list if that is what you mean.
This is what comes up when I click on a station link... Quote:

This may just be a warning from your browser making sure you don't download a virus. Have you tried just hitting open?

I have - it asks me which program I should use to open the file. I choose Winamp 3. It opens Winamp, but takes no action - no music, nothing. Not even an IP in the playlist.
