DLINK Router

Greetings...

I have searched all over this fourm for my answer, and in some way (s) it worked.

I have a di 604 router, and did the port forward...the server came up ok...no errors.

But no one could connect.

Now do I use for IP , my ip or the routers...whatelse have I done wrong, as I said I have looked over this excellent fourm for answers, but could not find one. I did find some that helped.

recap: server connects ok - no erros

yp seems to be ok , and says listed ( Touched )

No one can connect...!

Help

Thx!!

go to www.whatismyip.com to find your world visible IP

http://yourIP:yourPORT/listen.pls <-- url format for listeners

Please post a link to your stream.

DNAS link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://yourDNASip:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Replace yourDNASip with the ip of the DNAS (SHOUTcast server) and yourDNASport with the DNAS port (default is 8000)

Example:
If your DNAS ip is 123.345.567.789 and your DNAS portBase is 2112, then your links would be:
DNAS link: http://123.345.567.789:2112
Listen link: http://123.345.567.789:2112/listen.pls

Also, if your router doesn't support local loopback then machines on the same lan as the DNAS (you) need to use the lan ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.
Machines not on the same lan as the DNAS (the rest of the world) need to use the real, world-visible ip of the DNAS to connect/listen.

Please don't give out urls with 127.0.0.1 as the ip. That is a local loopback ip.
See RFC3330 for more information.

Please don't give out urls with 192.168.x.y or 10.x.y.z as the ip. That is a private lan ip.
See RFC1918 for more information. Scroll down and look for the section titled:
3. Private Address Space

How to find your ip address (Part I).
How to find your ip address (Part II).

Finally, you can get a static name, such as foo.bar.com (not as cool as that, though ) from http://www.no-ip.com or one of the other myriad of Dynamic DNS Services.
Then, your links would be:
DNAS link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport
Listen link: http://foo.bar.com:yourDNASport/listen.pls

Please read some polite advice.

Router

I did what the post asked me to do , also did a port forward, so that the raw IP would be present in the config file.

And the routers config:

Added 2112 as the port, here is the log.

Event log:
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [SHOUTcast] DNAS/win32 v1.9.2 (Nov 25 2002) starting up...
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] loaded config from C:\Program Files\SHOUTcast\sc_serv.ini
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] initializing (usermax:32 portbase:2112)...
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] No ban file found (sc_serv.ban)
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] No rip file found (sc_serv.rip)
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] opening source socket
<09/06/03@16:27:24> [main] error opening source socket! FATAL ERROR! Some other process is using this port!

- Sigh - Im sorry

<09/06/03@17:32:21> [source] connected from 192.168.0.100

Ok I fixed it....

In the DNAS SRC IP = ANY

DestIP=192.168.0.100

Winamps Source = 127.0.0.1

The LINK ( that now works is ) http://216.104.124.78:2112/listen.pls

All works 100%

Friends connected, with no probs...

Thank you again for all your help folks...I could not post a LINK that the DNAS would not connect too ( btw )

But just the same, leared heaps on here....THANK YOU!
