Windows Media Player error

I have .asx file extension, on some windows media players you get error 8007000D, no more help for this error. Any suggestions? I also have .m3u file extension that WILL work with some Windows Media Players, I don't understand why some Windows Media Players will work and some won't. I've upgraded the WMP and it still won't work.

Is there a trailing slash after the portBase value in the asx file?

Windows media player doesn't work very well with shoutcast streams (by design perhaps ?) some will work others won't, don't use wmp for shoutcast, use absolutelly anything else at all ;-)
