Roms Discussion

I'm just wondering if we have any rom collectors in these forums. Maybe know alot about them. I mainly collect old Atari and SNES roms and play them on a regular basis. I think roms are the few ways to get old games that arent found in stores anymore. I have a bunch of Jap SNES games too. What about you? What do you have?

ROM discussions on the forum are illegal. Expect this thread to be shut down or deleted if a mod sees this...

PM me and I can give you sites, though...

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

I forgot his name though...

First sign of a rom site link, emulator link or request and the topic goes bye bye, keep it legal people.

I have lots of Roms for Lots of systems, but to be safe I will reframe from listing them. PM or IM if you want to rant on the subject further.

It's not illegal to talk about it, but as ROMS are viewed as illegal by all major game manufactures, we don't wanna incur the wrath of say Nintendo legal by posting links to sites/downloads etc etc etc.

Talk, but don't link.

I agree, just trying to relive the old days of button mashing asteroids on an old atari joystick is quite fun. You don't get that too much simpler these days now. So far they brought back almost every lookalike game from the past and put 3d tech on them. But most of em suck. Cept the RPG games they're making on GBA like Tales of Phantasia and the like. But they need to bring back Tanks! or a sidescroller Defender game. That would kick ass!

www.downloadromsforfree.com is is the best site for roms man! you can get all the roms you want for free!!! screw you nintendo for making awesome games that i am too cheap to pay for yeah!!!!

(this is not a romsite link, nor emulator link)

I have the NES emulator, Nesticles or ZNES or something. Its for windows and I like it. Plays all the old games that dont work anymore cuz they are all dirty and stuff. I only have like 5 games though since all the links to roms and stuff are always getting taken down on the net.

I'm Back?

I use Kazaa (for legal roms of course) You can easilly obtain zips of up to 2,000 roms. I make a point of sharing such files. I have stacks for Mame/Genesis/Snes/ZX Spectrum. Free gaming.

obtaining roms with the 56k can be tedious, especially thoughs for systems like the n64,32x, and neo geo whos roms are quite large.

I don't see how the distrubution of old roms is hurting any company economically, its not like if my NES and Super Mario Bro. 3 cartridge break I can just walk in to EB or Babbages and buy a new one. Hell, even EA use to offer some of their old Genisis games online for free.

Yeah, but they allow the legal rights to be lifted. Now if a different company does the same to an old EA Genesis game, then we got problems.

I have quite a few....because back then I was only 5-9 years old, I had no idea what the games where really about. So I play them now to freshen up the old memories

Pretty much everyone got drawn out of the old 8 bit pixel games and went to high res PS or PS2 games. Only roms are now there to relive the past.

I use Mame often. Space Invaders, Berzerk, Bomb Jack, Bubble Bobble, Joust etc. A good game's a good game.
