Shoutcast Links Not Going To Winamp3
Ok, I feel like a total moron for this but here goes. I cant remember why but a few weeks back I saved a shoutcast link (*.pls file) onto my computer and tryed opening it. As I said I don't know why I did this since it would automatically send the broadcast to Winamp upon my selecting the link at the time. When I saved the .pls file and tried opening it, it did not work so I changed the program to open it with to IE. Of course that didnt work either, but the problem is that now the broadcasts are not sent to Winamp anymore even though i changed the program to open pls files to Winamp3. How can I allow Winamp to intercept the hyperlinks once again?

Assuming you're using Windows it's a fairly easy fix... open any window and select from the menues at the top select:
Tools/Folder Options Click the File Types tab (May take a second or two to load up) Scroll through and find the extention (on left) that matches the "pls" extention... highlight it and click the "Delete" button... this will remove the file association to IE. Next, just double click a "pls" file again and select WinAmp as the program to use. Check the box so it always uses this progam and yer done. - Tanlith - |
