Is this thing working?

I've been broadcasting successfully with shoutcast and winamp 2 for over a year now. That is, until I decided to air CDs. I downloaded the CD LineIn Plug-in for that, and it seemed to be successful.
The trouble began when I tried to go back to airing mp3s. I thought I'd changed all my settings back, but I can't seem to get any listeners. Not that my station was ever in high demand, but I usually got some attmepts to connect and maybe a few people who listend for an hour or so.
Now I get nothing. I asked a few people to try to connect to me, and they couldn't. The server monitor, however, says I'm connected to shoutcast and otherwise looks fine. I also show up in shoutcasts' station directory.
I even checked and made sure my windows XP firewall was disabled, as that has interfered with broadcasting in the past.

I also changed my max listeners down from 32 to 10 and have the mp3 encoder settings at 96kbps.
However, judging by the server log, this hasn't effected my ability to connect, or so it would seem. Might effect sound quality, but I can't get any listeners to tell.

I'll be airing all day, if anyone wants to see if they can connect:
Purrsia's Tunes From the Balkan Bar If just one person can connect, then my end might be okay afterall.

I consider it a small miracle that I was ever able to configure this thing in the first place and get up and running (me = techie doofus). Given that, I probably should have never messed with anything, lol!

However, anyone want to take pity on me and toss out some ideas?

Thanks!

Hope!

Well, I finally saw someone try to log on. They only stayed a few seconds, so things could still be slithgly screwy, but at least people are apparently able to connect somewhat. It'd be nice to know if there was a technical problem, though. Is there any way I can tune into my own broadcast?
At any rate, I did adjust a few more settings, and perhaps that's why someone was able to at least try to tune in.

Any feedback would be appriciated. Thanks.

That ip seems to be totally down at the mo, unless you have some firewall on total stealth mode, if so youu need to open port 8000

That's discouraging...

Well, the only firewall I have is the built-in one from windows xp, and I currently have that switched off In the past, disabling that firewall is all I had to do to get the stream out. Furthermore, my server log isn't sending any errors -- to look at it, you'd think my stream is reaching potential masses just fine.
This is why I'm stumped.

Pardon the stupidity of this question, but how can I check and see what ports I do have open? I'm not the slickest with computers, as you can tell

if you go to grc.com there is a full online port scanning utility called sheilds up, the person that runs the site is a bit of an idiot but if you ignore all his paranoid warblings the port scanner seems to work OK. As i say the IP you posted seems to be down it does not ping, if you try to scan port 8000 then it just says that the ip is either down or not responding to requests. R U sure that you posted the correct IP ?

Not my day...

The circuit breaker for the front room (where my computer is, of course) tripped a few minutes ago, too, so I was down for a bit because of that too

*sigh*

Anyway, I'm back up. I'll try that port scanner. And the IP should be good, unless my cable ISP decided to up and change it for some reason. I'll double check and make sure it's the same.

Thanks for your help.

holy crap!

Uh...it looks like Comcast up and changed my IP after it's been the same for what, two years now?

:: groans ::

If this is all it was, I'm going to scream.

At any rate, could people please see if they can connect now?
Purrsia's Tunes Balkan Bar

A million thanks!

Thank You!

Thank you so much. Though I feel extremely stupid due to what an obvious and simple solution fixed it, relief is outweighing that at the moment
