Stream has random blurps and bleeps

I'm using the Shoutcast 1.92 server and version 1.80 dsp. I get occasional yet random interrupting blurps and bleeps in the stream. The player is not cutting out or buffering. The audio sounds clean and solid straight from the board (source).

The DSP is on one pc networked to the local server (same internal network).

do you have enough bandwith? Doesn't sound like it, please lower your bitrate and see if it persists

Are the server and source on the same machine?

Sorry I didn't make this clearer: the dsp and Shoutcast server are each on separate pc's on the same internal (100 Mbps) network. The blips also occur at lower bit rates.

Did you process the source files from cds or are you using downloaded mp3s?

The source files are from CD. The source sounds excellent straight off the processing from the board and usually off air, except for the random quick blurps that occur at random times. I have a feeling it's network related -- like packet collisions or something.

I just wonder if anyone has experienced signal degredation at random times from the dsp out-ward (for other reasons besides crappy codecs).
