I need help-Broadcasting-Legal-Illegal

Is it legal or illegal to broadcast music. Do I have to pay a fee to the makers of the music I play. Royalty fees???

The rules/laws vary depending on the source location.

For folks in the U.S.A. (and others wanting a good read), try this for starters.

For a more definitive answer, please consult legal assistance.

Please see this thread for royalty options via SWCast.

Streaming Legally

Stream only music which has been freely released
by the original artist for promotional purposes.

Free Music can be found at sites like mp3.com, iuma.com,
ampcast.com, and many other locations. Avoid big label
music, and music which has not been freely released, as
only the big labels do not allow their artists to be
freely promoted, without charge, and their determinations
upon their own copyrights do not apply to independant
artists. Hope this helps.
