Gives me some idea. I use p2p all the time for those legal songs.
If you live in a humdrum town and don't want a credit card there's little choice. Anyway, "moonmadness" is a decent enough title for an album. I'm driven by impulse - if the title's good, the content should be. |

My fave Camel album is their self-titled first one, "Camel" (1973)
Fave track off this is: "Never Let Go" tho' there's not a bad track on the album (check out: Six Ate & Arubaluba) Other albums worth checking: The Snow Goose -1975 (Rhayader/Rhayader Goes to Town = fave tracks) Mirage - 1974 (Supertwister, Earthrise) Moonmadness -1976 (Song within a Song, Lunar Sea) Raindances - 1977 (this was the last Camel album I was in to, really.) Chameleon compil 1981 is a good starting point, but definitely get the first album! The personnel changed a lot over the years, and although Andy Latimer (guitars, etc) is still there, I kinda went off them after the other dudes left in the early 80's. Didn't know they were still going. If they've reformed with the original line-up, then that will be some gig! @Cylob How to describe Camel? Hmm . . . no other band to compare with really. Kinda top notch prog folky rock (drums, bass, guitars, keyboards, flutes, etc). Heavy in places, very laidback in others, lol

In addition to the albums I mentioned above, I've also got the following . . . but aren't really into them in the same way as their earlier works, if at all.
Breathless 1978 I Can See Your House From Here 1979 Nude 1981 Stationary Traveller 1983 Pressure Points 1984 Along with "Chameleon", other compils well worth getting are: The Live Record 1978 The Collection 1985 "Dust and Dreams" must've come out more recently, yes? (90's?) Never heard of it! So, you reckon it's worth getting? |

By miracle of modern science I'm now the owner of Snow Goose. My rubber arm's been twisted. First thoughts:
70's prog rock (obviously). Good quality instrumentation, futuristic atmosphere (in a Blake's 7 or Logan's Run way). Reminds me immediately of Magnum, who appeared later in the 70's. I had no idea this band existed. I know one thing, I need a larger HD, and quickly. |
