Is There a .NET version of Winamp?
Is there a .NET version of winamp out, in the making, or in future plans? If so, then what language(s) would it be in (c#, vb.net, etc.). And if it does exists, what version of .net is it in (2002 or 2003)?

No there isnt; what possible advantage would .NET confer to an application such as Winamp?

not to mention it'd break portability to other platforms. There has always been that rumor flying around that they wanted it to run properly on linux.
s0be And On that day, the Lords of the land said unto their Master Architect, "The temple you have made to the gods of Wasabi and Maki has brought us no great prosperity" and they sent out him into the lands. As he traveled to a far off land, he found he wasn't traveling alone, but that he had gained companions, and when they found their new land, they started work on a new temple, one that would be OPEN to all who wanted to worship. from The Book of Wasabi C 12 Vs 09 (pg 2003)

Would we really want to further Microsoft's monopoly?
And why would they want to ruin Winamp by using VisualBasic.NET? If life calls and you're busy, let the answering machine pick-up. Just so you know, my previous avatar was NOT a swastika, nor did it have much similarity to one. Just thought I'd clear that up since I cannot use my own original art work. |

i don't think that something designed to be small and lightweight would benefit all that much from something like .net.
