$1500 receiver
I'm looking for a good receiver for under 1500 USD.
I'm probably going to be buying this system this next summer, and need a good receiver capable of utilizing all of it's power - I've been looking around but haven't seen anything to fit my taste, and was hoping that some of you may have something that will work with the system. Oh yeah - I'm getting the 15" subwoofer with that system - not the 10". Thanks. |

hey nice speaker system there. I wish i had a job and could afford something like that. I always thought Denon made good recievers but, i've never looked at high-end components because i can't afford them anyway. Of course, you go the preamp/poweramp route if power is your main concern.

Anubis, are you considering tube driven amplifiers to power those?

I'm considering basically anything that will do it. I am trying to keep from spending all of my summer job money on this system, but as you can see that ain't going so well so far

is this going to be for audio only or for movies. (may sound like a stpid question because of the center speaker in the package but SACD and DVD- audio is the reason i ask)

Yeah, but I don't really like bose, and the system wouldn't be nearly as good.
I am going to use the floor speakers and sub for some basic DJing, but then I'll keep the system in my apartment with my projector that I'll be getting for movies and such - basically just looking for a good way to spend a few thousand dollars - lol. [edit]thanks for the links k-rock. Those look like some decent recievers - thanks again. [/edit]

anubis with speakers like this your going to need a clean amp providing clean energy. I suggest using mid-fi amps from NAD or ADCOM ADCOM has a new line up of components. I highly recomend a combination of Klipsch and ADCOM amps. Clean sound and they look great.

anubis are you looking for home theatre equipment or DJ equipment?

kinda along the lines of both - I want something that could be used for either - I was going to do some real DJing, but decided against that - I'm just going to play loud music at parties and probably throw some fancy AVS visuals up on a projector.
But then I also want a nice home theatre system(hence why I am getting the full system with the bookshelves and center). |
