Don't you guys miss childhood?

I do.
I miss the mystery.
The fear of monsters,
lurking beneath the bed,
i used to check if they were there,
I miss my parents,
the UNCONDITIONAL love,
the fear of God's punishment,
the local school,
the drawing, the dreaming,
the summer vacations,
the feeling of being,
being an individual,
of being an equal,
the fantasy,
the exploring,
cartoons,
at 7 a.m. in the morning,
but most of all i miss the ability,
the ability to feel love, anger, fear,
envy, lust, joy and sadness.
Feelings that are not allowed.
I miss the smile,
I miss the tear,
I miss myself most of all.

And then you find out,
that reality is more than being real,
that life evolves around living,
living up to the highest potential,
a job, a second car, a second wife,
money, fame, a career, a driver's license.
Am i the only one to question?
To question reality and consider
Change?

Every day I wake up, feeling horrible about this world,
and my own lack of power to change it for the better.
To change it back to the world that is my childhood.

Interesting poem (ish). Did you write that? And I would have to say that I enjoy growin up, and can not wait until I am an adult, becauset then I can make my own choices for myself, and I wont have to worry about the world, becuase the world does not worry about me.

(Plus childhood was not a particularily good time for me, could be called horrid and depressng if you like)

ah yes.

the feeling of having
no money.
the knowledge that you are completly
dependent on everyone around you.
having absollutly
no rights.
or having
no say in anything.
having everything you thought and beleive
being cast aside with a pat on the head.
every day having
the bigger kid push you down.
always wondering why your voice
hasn't changed yet like the other boys'.
why your chest
is still flat, whilst the other girls' have lumps,
why everyone else
complains of their monthly periods, and you havn't had one yet.
not understanding why she
makes your stomach feel weird.
feeling liek everyone is
watching you, judging you, becasue they are all so much better than you.

boy i miss those days!

When you realize you miss these things from your childhood, this means you realize what life is all about. This gives you the chance of still being that child every day (especially men ), if you play the game of life smart. Create some independence (time & money) and use it for the things you really like...

the worst thing is you can't return it. it'll forever be only in your head, in your memories.

"Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?"

I still play football like i used to, but not many people play any more, they're too busy with their jobs. Then when i ask them why they need a job at 16 they can't answer. Fucks.

I am not sure 'bout mising chilhood!
I've just passed that stage and I'm very relieved that no one treats me as a child now.The grass always looks greener on the other side.Don't look at the good things of childhood only! There are lots of rules and regulation that you'll love to avaiod. And what 'bout the freedom?

I'm not a girl don't tell me what to believe

Is it possible it has to do with cell phone subscribtions? It seems every kid older than 10 needs one, as it would be essential for safety, social contacts, status etc. In 1995 nobody under 18 had one and their lifes were fine. I am not saying you shouldn't have new technology when you're young, but only when you realize the costs and can afford it...

I miss getting sex ed lessons from a babysitter. Try it now, Chev becomes the tunnel for the sausage express at the local prison.

BTW, sex ed was the best class to play dumb in. I played so dumb, that the teacher kept me after class for some hands on. I DON'T think that guy was a very good teacher

no way - parents always telling you what you did wrong.-
how late you have to be home- glad i've passed that stage ages ago ( it feel like ages-only been about 24 years ago)

but I think I do the same to my kids now telling them what they did wrong and not to be late

Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.

My childhood was great, but so is my life now. I have fun whenever and wherever I am. I have slipped and gotten unhappy very very few times.
