DNAS Config File Generator

Hmmmmm its been a while since i have been on these forums basically because the person who was supplying the bandwidth for my station cut the hosting.

Anyway, i have always been keen in shoutcast and have made little scripts and such for shoutcast servers in the past.

Now im making some more, just to parse the time.

The latest one im working on is a config file generator. Why am i doing this? because as most of the mods here know, along with other regular posters, some people dont feel comfortable editing config files.

This script should take the hastle out of that for the user

i have litterally spent 5 mins on this so far and have made the windows GUI:

alot of the input boxes arn't done yet. but before i continue with this, is it a good idea do you think, or not?

if most people are in favour, i will have a complete working versio online within 24 hours.

Matt

What kind of advanced features were you going to add?

I think for noveces it's a good idea and a quick way to make the server do what you want it to without having to read through the config file itself.

For novices it's not good. Like Jay said, it's all pointless. Most people know the config file like the back of their hand, which is they won't need this. I wouldn't trust that program in the least.

Wahts the mening

Is pointless really to spending time to write that, but if you wont to kill time maby is a good solution for you.Thats not that hard to manage to fill in some information, you do it on 10-12 min. I am streming from a unix platform, ther you have to set up all from with kebord

Personally.. I wouldn't go as far as saying it pointless, really. For extreme novices this program might be nice.

I'd glady add a RTFM bot to link to your FM when it's done.
