both bands were good at one stage, and now suck..

but i never really liked metallica. Theyr too mean and gruff for me.

Slash from gunners was my childhood hero, so it no contest.

Anyways.. can we please have this thread moved..

next time demo, post it in the appropriate subforum

I don't have enough time to watse for either of the bands............

All pop music is good music but all good music isn't pop music

Back in the day, I went to see a pair of concerts. First I went to see Skid Row/Guns'N'Roses at the old McNichols Arena. Skid Row was worthy of my hearing, but Axl Rose of Guns was an utter asshole. Some guy in the crowd, during the second song, supposedly flipped off Axl Rose, which threw him into a tantrum, having security throw the guy out. What a show flopper.
The next year, it was Metallica at Mile High Stadium
Guess who the opening act was
Third song: Asl gets pissed at the sound or some stupid shit, throws his mike into the crowd, stomps offstage, gets into his limo and heads for the airport leaving the rest of the band onstage with nothing to do but pull a jam session. Whatta dick!
Later that year, James Hetfield suffered the pyro accident which made him a Michael Jackson clone, I believe in Vancouver. Guns could have gone onstage to keep the crowd entertained but abstained. Riot ensued, several arrests, local businesses attacked, blah, blah blah....like when Detroit wins the Stanley Cup.

well as possibly the biggest metallica fan in these forums i would say metallica. . Love 'em or hate 'em you have to respect their talent. Remember that they were one of the first thrash bands ever. They're songwriting is amazing not only musically but also lyrically. Kirk can shred with the best of them. James can actually sing and growl at the same time without screaming. Cliff (RIP) was the best bassist ever and notice how much they went downhill after he died. They are and always will be the worlds best thrash band.

At least until they released LOAD/RELOAD. and everything after them. But nobody can touch their old stuff

Never underestimate the bandwidth of a station wagon full of tapes hurtling down the highway.

I'm not going to read all that.

I choose Guns N Roses though, because Metallica are assholes.

Metallica, no doubt... I like Guns N' Roses too, but not as much...

A very close Japanese friend I knew a while ago once said to me "Watashi no koto wo oboeta, onegai shimasu...Yakusoku?"

Why is it that people judge metallica based on things like napster and not on the music. the music is what its about

There were only two songs from Metallica I liked, and those were "Master of Puppets" and "Enter the Sandman".

bit of both - some songs from metallica are good and some of the guns 'n roses stuff is good.

Each Thursday a new show on Celtica Radio with Darkwave music.

I like Metallica's old stuff. I think their new stuff sucks. There were only a few G'N R songs that I really liked.
I wouldn't pay to see either one in concert, and I have no driving desire to meet any of them.

Wasn't 'Slash' that chap with the hat, hair and fag hanging from the left corner of the mouth?

The word 'slash' in England means to take a piss...
