Analogically defined true Love

A friend has just sent it to me.I'm not sure that you guys have already read it or not .............but it seems superb to me.

Quote:
I once had a friend who grew to be very close to me.
Once when we were sitting at the edge of a swimming
pool, she filled the palm of her hand with a little
water and held it before me, and said this: "You see
this water carefully contained on my hand? It
symbolizes Love."

This was how I saw it: "As long as you keep your hand
caringly open and allow it to remain there, it will
always be there. However, if you attempt to close your
fingers round it and try to posses it, it will spill
through the first cracks it finds.

This is the greatest mistake that people do when they
meet love...they try to posses it, they demand, they
expect... and just like the water spilling out of your
hand, Love will retrieve from you. For love is meant
to be free, you cannot change its nature. If there are
people you love, allow them to be free beings. Give
and don't expect. Advise, but don't order. Ask, but
never demand. It might sound simple, but it is a
lesson that may take a lifetime to truly practice. It
is the secret to true love.

To truly practice it, you must sincerely feel no
expectations from those who you love, and yet an
unconditional caring."

Passing thought...
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take
but by the moments that take our breath away.
Dont know whether the above is right, a few replies regarding agree and disagree might clear the confusion.

"Radical", how TMNT. I like it. =D

As for the quote, I can look past the gquestionable English and appreciate the mushy sentiments within it. Nice. =)

*sighs* We tried to tell Apola nicely that her constant posting about boy bands was annoying. We'd like to see her contribute something else other than that which for the most part, all of us detest. But, she CHOOSES to continue with it.
I think you'll forgive me now shyshy........I really like you ......you are so helpful.

Hmm, I've only had one girlfriend so far in my life (I'm 15), and I've had her since septemeber. She's already had two other boyfriends in the past year (she's 14), but she seems to love me just as much as I love her, which is a hellalot (we hug and talk all the time at school, and when no one's around: we kiss ). But do you think I stand a chance, considering that I've never had a girlfriend in my lifetime?

This is a sig of some nature.

Not true at all. At all. Unconditional (i.e. true) love is a very real thing, it is only a question of if you are lucky enough to experience it.

/edit
Scyth you do definitely stand a chance, it isn't about experience, it's about what happens right here and now.
See experience defined is a rigid example of something we've been through. While sometimes helpful, it can't always be stretched to meet the specific needs of a new situation or handling a new thing. Thusly, experience isn't really needed, as long as you put your true self forward, and give it your all.
You stand a chance, go for the long run, you can make it. ^_^

Perhaps your parents?

The search for the ultimate signature continues apace. I have journeyed from the peaks of Nepal to the depths of oceanic trenches. I have crossed deserts, jungles, swamps, savannas, steppes and frozen wastelands. I have consulted with seers, swamis, sages, scholars and savants. The peregrination proceeds purposefully.

The use of metaphors to describe an emotion and it's boundaries is quite interesting.

pfffft. True love has yet to find it's way to my door. Maybe wet lusting and crushed dreams are True Love, but I certainly hope not.

Does not make for clean sheets does it?
Why have wet lust when you can have wet reality?

I secretly thought and planned how I would ask my True Love.
To my surprise, my True Love accused me of not being True to Her
Because a Friend told Her it was so.
The day She thought I was not being True
Is the same day I bought the ring.
My True Love cursed my name, struck me,
And threw me out of Her life.
I proved to Her that I was True
By showing Her when I bought the ring,
And that I was True after all.
Once I was sure that She knew I had been True,
That a Friend was not a real Friend after all,
And once Her tears began to flow,
I left my True Love behind forever.
And now, after so many calls and unopened letters
I refuse to ever let my True Love
Into my Heart again
Until She feels the same amount of Pain I have felt.
Hence I would see my True Love again
Only after forever has passed.
My Love for Her is without condition and without end.
This is the endless cause of my Pain.
It is why She will never feel just as much Pain
And why I will never again know my True Love.

*Bows* I too have felt pain, but yours shalt ever be greater.

There once was a man
That I fell in love with
Oh, I was a child...
He deceiveth me,
And left me unsure
And left me to bleed when he should have been there
He made empty promises
He had given me his word
And now he shalt die
In service of the army
And forever I shalt feel pain
For what might have been...

But hey, I have a better man now, and yeah. ^_^ No need wasting more time on the past when all it does is cause you to bleed.
I think the secret to finding true love, is not to look.
