incorrect track length display
hey,
i've searched the forum for this problem and i found that people are having this problem when playing audio cd's but no one seems to have it with regular mp3's. when ever i load files into the media library it reads the wrong track legth for some reason for some songs, i dunno where the problems comes from, does the mp3's tag have to do with it??? i've been having this problem since wa5 beta 1, does anyone have this problem too, and how can i solve it. thanx Shoot me again I ain't dead YET |

Can't reproduce with MP3's.
What encoder was used? eg. are they vbr MP3's encoded with Xing (MusicMatch, Real, AudioCatalyst) Some tools to try: vbrfix - Fixes missing vbr headers MP3Utility - Reports corruption in headers/frames EncSpot - Reports quality, encoder, etc. |

I just started having this problem myself with WA5 Final.
The track lengths are replaced with correct values when actually played though. |

I had this same problem...I had ripped a dozen cd's using WMP(to lossless format) and converted to 320kbps mp3...some tracks had the wrong length (shown as full cd length). problem solved by reripping the messed up cds. the other problem was time scaling...some of the wrong timed tracks would play super slow.
easiest way to fix? if possible, rerip the songs that are messed up or rerip the entire cd. the only guaranteed fix(for me at least) |

VBR wrong length
I ran into this playing VBR MP3s recorded by MusicMatch in RealPlayer. After lots of going through support, I got the following answer from MusicMatch:
"Hello, The trouble you are having with the time displayed for VBR MP3s is a known issue with the XAudio decoder that is used in MusicMatch Jukebox, as well as a number of other MP3 player programs. Once this issue is corrected in the XAudio decoder, we will be able to implement the fix within MusicMatch Jukebox. We hope you will continue to check our web site for updated releases for a resolution to this issue. Regards, Joe MUSICMATCH®" However, I have never gotten a fixed version from them. I strongly do not recommend using MMJ because they croak on large libraries, and they never heard of multithreading. |
