Firewall ADSL Modem will not let me get on the net.

Hi,
I have a interesting and proboly common problem. I have shoutcast server running on my local network, and working. When I type in my local ip 10.0.0.12:8000 I get the shoutcast server screen, which tells me everything is working, which it is on my local area network. When I try it through my internet ip I get a page not found. I have a visionet modem with a firewall installed in it. Earlier whenever I wanted to do somthing I had to open a port and enter the hostname for the port at a screen called virtual server. I tried that and it still dosent work.
-----
I guess a better explanation of my problem would be that I got my shoutcast music server configured properly but it cannot get past my firewall in my modem. My modem lets me add public and private ports and hostnames, I tried it, and it didnt give me any progress on my modems ip or internet ip through the port I entered.

Is there any way to get past or add a port to the firewall into my modem. Is there a setting I am missing? I have a visionnet adsl modem. The model name is visionet 201er. Thanks for reading this.

Oh wait, I just searched your forum for firewall and found a link to the site http://www.radiotoolbox.com/online_t...ntheygetin.php and tried it for ports 8000 and 8001 and it said open!

heres the scenario
LAN Visionnet ADSL Modem Address - 10.0.0.2
My Server/Players LAN Address - 10.0.0.12
My Outside ADSL Modem Address (till I restart) - 204.96.145.63
10.0.0.2:8000 does not work - 10.0.0.12:8000 works dandy -
204.96.145.63:8000 does not work either - Is there some other setting I have to have?

K if its working fine on the network that is good you will not be able to listen from your dynamic ip on you LAN get somone outside you lan to see if it works like a m8 on msn or yahoo or somthing if he is picking it up it is working

Also go to NO-IP.com i think to sort out the dynamic ip adress prb m8

Btw what modem do you have

Right i think you have a etec modem if so then you will have to do what i did go in to the modem configeration screen http:/10.0.0.2 i think then go and change your modem defult port to 1080 once you have done that create a virtual server ports 8000 and 8001 i think then let you modem do it shit now it should work brodcasting outside the network after you have done that your modem adress would of changed from http://10.0.0.2 to http://10.0.0.2:1080 as you have now changed the port to 1080 only do this if you have a etec modem Good luck
