Can I Get The Source ?

Is it possible for a dev like me to get a source code of winamp?

Winamp is NOT Open Source.

hmmmmm perhaps if the comunity wanted it to become open source enough they could do a similar thing that blender did.

(blender was in a very similar area as winamp is now, a company providing free software. however the company went down and the investors got a small amount of their money back by selling the source code to the public for 100,000 euro's)

perhaps Winamp could have a comunity buy out some day, (well when it goes under)

i would love to see it open source.

I can tell you for a fact that AOL values Winamp at a hell of a lot more than â‚¬100,000.

yupp more like 3 mill or more seeing that Winamp is
now on the right track to challenge Windows Media Player

LOL blender had previously recived 4 million dollars worth of funding and was backed by enough people.

ummm i didn't sugest 100K.

i used it as an example of freeing source.

the price would/should reflect the userbase and value of the software. Winamp has the ability to get far more if the company went down and AOL wanted to cut loses.
