Used CDs

I have been thinking lately if buying new CDs all the time is the best way to get the CDs, or if I should try buying used CDs some time. Would amazon, ebay or a local music store be the best bet? I know online I will probably have to pay shipping, but I will have to pay tax local. Share any experience you may have with buying used music with me! Thx!

Try your local record stores. Here in sunny Manchester we have The Vinyl Exchange. You can either sell them your cd's or exchnage them for credit against cds you want.

It's been said that I could start an arguement in an empty room.....I see no reason to disbelieve this.

I bet half of the cd's I've bought (around 2500) over the years were used. Why buy a new disc when I can go down the road and possibly find it for $8 used?

@grumpybb- damn, you have 2500 CDs? Where do you store them all? Did you rip them all to your computer? If so what format and how much hard drive spave does it take up?

There's a link on the left side of the screen that says "Shipping & Handling"... look there

Haha, I didn't even see that there! shipping is VERY cheap, only $2.50 for first CD and .35 for each additional CD.

I haven't done an official count in a long time but it's right around 2500 cd's. I just have a bunch of cd racks where they are kept and a couple of milk crate type containers. I've only ripped a couple hundred of them but would like to do a ton more someday when I get a TOM more HD storage.

I have close to 90 gigs of mp3's on my comp now and i'd say that all but about 10 gigs was downloaded from the old Napster, WinMX or DC++.

great place to buy from. I've been signed up with them for about 3 years now I think. I don't buy a lot from them, just occasionally, but they've had great service every time. A few times they've thrown in a couple of stickers and a jewel case opener to remove shrinkwrap.
