I have one WinME machine (not in use) and one WinXP machine.

At work, I actively use 4 machines that either have WinME or WinXP on them. Occasionally, one of the systems will run Win2k or Win98.

On my old Computer I have Windows 2000, on my Laptop I got Windows XP Pro and Linux (it's a dualboot but I use Windows more since I'm more used to it, only used Linux for practising my C++).

We still have a Windows 3.1 Computer and an old ATARI with lots of games for it in the cellar - that was agreat Computer and it still works! If I ever have a bigger apartment I'll take it with me

Depends what you're considering "MY" computer. I built and maintain two Linux PCs at work, but I don't really "own" them.

I'm on a XP machine as I type this, and then there's my personal Linux server.
So:

XP, Windows = 1
Gentoo Linux = 1
[edit]Pocket PC 3.0.11171 = 1[/edit]

I dual boot XP pro and Fedora core 1 which I am using most of the time now as my main project for the next few months involves using it. XP would have worked but I wanted one of the requirements to be that it ran on a standardish linux web service setup.

Yes. Too bad btw. It really had some potential to be a good OS. It's just that not a lot people knew about the OS. So it lacked usefull software, imho.

Anyway, I got 3 w2k machines. And soon one of them will be a XP Pro one.

Ya, BeOS was a pretty good OS about 4 years ago, I remember my cousin was using it as his main OS for a little while but then had to switch back to Windows because it wouldnt support a enw device he got at the time.

BeOS had VSync (sort of, it's a little more complex than that), so all the screen updates were super-smooth.

well, how many are in my house is a little different from how many I have---and how many I would want to use is slightly different from the number in my house

Windows XP Home--2 PC's
windows 2000 - 1 laptop
windows 98 - 2nd laptop (actually not in my house)
dos/windows 3.1--ancient 386 computer

3 Machines, (a cpl more that are in working condition, but not hooked up)

1 X..XP Pro on my main machine...2 X..XP Home on my daughters machines

I also own,Wins/95/98/ME..Have'nt used them in a long time though..

I'm a Winders Kinda Guy..It's never given me any reason to look elsewhere for an OS, always done exactly what it's supposed to without problems..98/ME used to freeze up on me abit, nothing a reboot didn't get rid of

XP Pro on my main PC and my laptop. Both legit. I installed Fedora (ie Red Hat) on my old Compaq as a project to learn Linux, but it turns out I can't be arsed learning a new OS. It ran really well before I lost interest though...
