What has happened to Winamp.com?

Used to be that people were inspired to come here.

The Featured skins never change, they are either Staffs skins or they are companies that paid.

The Download system is a mess. There should be a Modern Page and a Classic page, not both.

Same Problem with the guys in the AVS section, they arent inspired anymore or they quit making AVS.

Does anyone care in here. Please join me to spread the word about this site. We want Change! Maybe you guys can set aside a day where all the good skins are pulled as a warning to these guys. Be funny if
RPClark, Razman, bartibartman, Adil, ect.. pulled there skins for a week. and even the AVS guys set a strike day.

the sponcerd skins on the front page are what make winamp free to use and skins free to use, they pay for shit AOL dont / cant be arsed paying for (sure i read that somewere)

just put up with it, EVERYONE has had a complaint about the new site / db but nothing has changed due to how hard it will be, its a huge task and nullsoft don't want to do it... they don't need to do it.

It IS kinda unfair to have in the same sections like "Featured skins" skins that are for WA2.x to appear upon skins for WA3/WA5.
Also I can tell you that this is one of the most reasons I'm for example kinda "away" so long time from here.

BUT since AOL is now about all Nullsoft team and AOL is a giant in this industry don't bother for this cause it don't costs it anything to have the website look like this, it makes money from this now and that is what matters for them.

Since all the skinners like me will move to another media player or create their own real FREE players with cross platform ability (Windows/Linus/MacOS etc.) AOL will wake up and reconsider to change some things in Winamp.com site.

This can happen tomorrow or in 5 years from now, I'm not sure about this but someday will happen

Until then we will see skinners in not that mood they were once upon the time.

For example go 1 year back from today and see how many skins was posted in this section........

There is already a thread about this but..

Perhaps there could be a column on the main page specifically for sponsored skins, and only other skins could be featured?

winamp0 - winamp2.9 took nearly 7 years, and about 30 people all in all. winamp3 took 4 years to get to where it was before aol dumped it. winamp5 took a year to take the skin engine and script engine and put them into a dll and package it with winamp2.9.

this is not gonna happen 2moro for someone who is just a skinner, its not gonna happen in 5 years for someone who is just a skinner, people are gonna need a big heavy duty team to get somthing like that, even to the drawing board.
so dont count on anything better than winamp within the near future

nobody, I am just pointing some things here that will happen someday.

And while I was pointing about this for the free player I didn't told that a skinner will make it. obviously needs a team with hardcore coding abilities and inovation

oh my - to be honest, i love winamp (with or without stepfather AOL), almost all users join me - also when i'm pointing at winamp.com... it is not so hard to rewrite the code to build a kind of separé for classic/modern skins...why isn't that done? it does take one web-coder two days - max.!

im not against the actualy winamp player but the winamp team is full of shit..if they don't clean up their act they will lose all the good skins coming in and will have to resort to paying people to make, which means that eventually they will crash..i must agree with VAG, there will be a new player out there soon that will be better than winamp and it will take over. just my two cents
