help

hello i am totally new to skinning...

i have read through various tutorials on modern skins and have come to a halt with a big problem...

every time i make a change to any existing or created skin that works... when i unzip it by changing the file extension and then make a minor harmless change the skin does not work when i zip it again and turn it to a wal again..... it just loads the default classic skin and doesnt render the skin.....
would there be any particular reason for this not working....?

any help or suggestion would be appreciated....cheers

best guess is that when you unzip it, you just drag all the files out from your zip program into a folder, which causes all the subfolders to disappear. What you want to do is click 'extract' from within the program, or right click the file and select 'extract here', or something...

You should also only zip whats in the folder. and not the folder as a hole.
What I mean is that you should zip so that the subfolders/skin.xml are the first thing you see when opening and not the folder.

icegod is right...go into the folder with ur skin then select like the skin.xml file and then all the subfolders under it and it will work fine.
