Banned Clearchannel Songs

http://www.f---edcompany.com/extras/...nnel_email.cfm

All of these songs are banned by Clearchannel.
After reading this, you'll know why I hate the FCC.

Alot of the songs that are listed on there, local Clearchannel station 100.5 WTFX still plays...

It's sorta like giving your boss the finger and then you continue on working...

"I just want to lie in my own crusty filth, eating rancid egg sandwiches, until some unfortunate paramedic has to blow down my door to find my bloated and pasty corpse wedged between the nightstand and mattress stained with Bengay and Robitussin DM." - Greg Gutfeld on sex and seniors
"Syphilis does not stay in Vegas. Debt collectors do not stay in Vegas. Dead hookers stay in Vegas, but the guilt stays with you forever." - Bill Schultz

There are quite a few on that list that I can't see any reason not to play, but maybe I'm not reading anything too deeply into the lyrics

Kids, you tried your best and you failed miserably. The lesson is, never try.

A few of them are played by 103.9 the X here as well. Some stations ignore it yes, but soon they will be in trouble for doing that.

Alot of the songs I see no reason for banning, Clearchannel is fucked up like that.

Some of the songs listed are songs that Clear Channel decided shouldn't be played after 9/11. They were afraid of offending people. But, the radio stations here (KBPI, The Fox, Alice 105.9) still play them anyway. Censorship is just stupid, especially over some of the songs they have listed. If they're going to do that then pretty soon they won't be able to play anything.

All Rage Against The Machine songs

How ironic that to promote patriotism they take away one of the most basic rights.

In a nutshell...

The FCC is the top dog when it comes to public censorship in the media...

Clear Channel is a media and entertainment buisness group/corperation...

This one doesn't make sense, it talkes about how safe it is in New York, a sense of false security perhaps

REM "It's the End of the World as We Know It"
As we know it is key here. Not the end of everything, only change.

Alanis Morissette "Ironic"
Can't really judge a song based on one line...

Don McLean "American Pie"
It's a song about a life without music, not dying.

Third Eye Blind "Jumper"
So trying to give someone a positive outlook on life is a bad thing because they are considering to kill themselves?

I was mostly being sarcastic and playing devil's advocate there..

But I do like all of those songs, and like I say, it is really dumb and I almost question the authenticity of this list.

as a sidenote, the station I listen is thankfully not a Clearchannel station.

[edit]
AH-HA It IS false! (at least the "banned" part)

[edit2]Well, on further reading, it appears it was a list put together by a pinhead exec that "advised" radio stations that those songs could be questionable
