My job digusts me.

I got a new job like 2 weeks ago as a sales rep selling Cutco knives, under Vector Marketing. The thing that digusts me the most isn't the past charges of fraud, or the fact that there is an entire community that despises this company, but that when I do a presentation of the knives to people, I am almost required to ask the viewing parties to write down people as referals. It seems so sleazy. I am not a begger. I do not beg for anything. I am probably going to quit.

Seriously, I feel like I need to shower after I do a presentation. It is simply that demeaning to me.

Yes, I will quit.

You don't quit your job because you don't like it, you just go in and do it really half-assed.

I keep getting letters from Vector, but they promptly go into my Shredder. Tell your bosses to stop writing me, it's annoying.

Just cut yourself with the knives while your showing them. You'll be able to sue the company most likely for improper training. You'll also have witness's to their neglegance from the showing.

This way you'll be fat paid and won't have to work!!!

Too bad the "Contributory Negligence" defense would most likely succeed in that lawsuit.

Todays law definition:

Contributory Negligence

An injured person's failure to exercise due care, which along with another person's (the defendant's) negligence, contributed to the injury.

well i think youre better off geting experience in the field your going to want to be working on in the future, cus jumping from job to job that you dont like aint going to look good on your resume, it makes you look to future employer like your not stable and cant hold a job for a long time, even if thats not true, thats how they'll see it.

Why not get job experience in something that would interest you?

Well, at least I wouldn't be interested in selling knives anyway...Don't know about you, but...

It was the only place that would hire WITHOUT prior experience. Hell, I would love to be a music store clerk and say stuff like "This job would be great if we didn't have the customers."

Hey hon

If you like the whole concept of working with people and having fun with the public I have a friend in CA that owns a marketing company very similar to mine.

He and I started working together 10 years ago and then he moved to CA and started a company, I stayed here on the East Coast and developed my own.

We are still really good friends and I would be happy to refer you to him.

If you are interested let me know. It will be more of a real job for you and it would still be fun.

Good Luck
Missy
