Darkstar TV Banned

May I inquire as to why Darkstar TV was banned from the Internet TV listing on Winamp Library? Unfortunately, due to a change in bandwidth the listed bitrate was 130 whereas the final bitrate (after final process) was down at about 114-119 for some part of this afternoon.

Moderator: please kindly remove the ban for Darkstar TV if at all possible - I was unaware of a violation of the service terms. The IP address(es) associated with this server is: 66.36.242.154

ALSO: if possible, can I recieve more information on the bans reasoning as to fix the problem and assure this does not happen again? I am guessing the bitrate (though only differing slightly from the listed bitrate) is the problem but I can't be sure as not a ton of information was available in the logs.

Warm Regards,
Chad Oehlkers

Gotcha. Probably my "buddy" Chandler. He doesnt understand the concept of bandwidth and listener count. If possible, can I have that IP address unbanned? I have since disabled all other shoutcast servers except the run I show movies and an occasional live TV show.

If this is not possible I understand. Rules were broken from the sounds of it but I just thought I would check and see. Hard to get an even remotely small audience if my live streams dont get listed .

darkstar2002c, the bitrate is one of the least common reasons for being banned.

Also, you should change the genre of your stream since you are streaming PG movies in the Adult genre, so, besides confusing people, you are also losing viewers who block out NC17 streams.

Yeah -- thanks for the info. I was streaming movies then was testing an adult rated movie and forgot to change it back again. My fault but since I had so many viewers watching a PG-13 movie I didnt want to stop the stream to change genres. I should have, because now maybe its caused some problems.

Rating is non-user controlled, as the post previous to mine says but listing the genre as Adult will surely confuse the raters. My bad.

*bump*

Hopefully an admin can take a look over this and consider unbanning the IPs listed. I run several radio stations as well as video streams that are no longer being listed due to an employees mistake of streaming too much information from HIS pc to the server which was causing buffering problems. The server can more than handle what was going through it so it was a mistake made by someone unintentionally which will not happen again. I have since required his approval before streaming and the rest of the streams are personally setup by me so their is 0 chance for error now. Thanks for the consideration and sorry to bother the mods.
