Yes, but how do we reproduce this?
What skin is that?
Does it only happen with that one skin?
Any 3rd-party plugins installed?

Happens a lot, every time i try to play a file that isn't recognized, ofs in this case.
Happens in all skins.

Third parties: i'll have to make a list of that

All the ones with full install+

general purpose:
close after current
dynamic library
netamp
time restore and autoplay
tips
yar-matey playlist copier

DSP:
SqrSoft
Pacemaker
RockSteady
Inferno Volume controller

Input:
Thomson mp3pro decoder

Well, alas, your bug report is invalid

I can guarantee you that it cannot be reproduced with a clean install of Winamp 5.04 with NO 3rd-party plugins.

From your list, it could be any of the following to blame:
Thomson mp3pro decoder (very buggy p.o.s.)
Netamp (never heard of/used it before)
Or one of the DSP plugins (whichever one is currently active).

btw, what is "ofs"?

Haa, should have known it...caused me problems before.
Disabling this one fixed the problem.

I've tried to get an update for this thomson plugin before, this is the answere i got from thomson:

'Any updates to Winamp must come from AOL. mp3 Licensing is still pursuing licensing opportunities with mp3Pro.

mp3 Licensing Team.'

Should i try AOL to let them make an update?

*sigh (still) under construction*

That's utter bs.

aol/nullsoft has no jurisdiction over 3rd-party plugins.

that's otherwise known as we don't give a shit or the famous idgat approach to support. i think that reply just proves how lame the format is if the company who made it are passing of support for a plugin that they made. and there are far better options out there, ogg, aac+, flac, etc which are far better alternatives to use

mp3pro appears to be dieing (any streams based on it were removed from the shoutcast listings from what i remember). even i could make a better input plgin and i've no idea when it comes to that sort of thing.

anyway, that's my 2 cents

Thanks Egg & DrO,

You confirmed what i already was afraid for.

I'll stop ripping to 'mp3pro'
Problem is i got a lot of mp3pro's already, re-ripping will be a lot of work...
So whenever i get bored, i'll know what do do
