J-Pop, J-Rock?
Who likes it?
I like Utada Hikaru, Ayumi Hamasaki as far as J-Pop goes. As for J-Rock I like The Pillows, L'Arc En Ciel.... Also Yoko Kanno but her compositions aren't really J-Pop... Totally different. |

I've got a brother who lives in Japan & he plays Japanese stuff for me sometimes. Halcali & Yukari Fresh are good cheerleader-synthpop & Kiseru reminds me of Iron and Wine in a good way. I'll see if he has any Utada Hikaru or Ayumi Hamasaki.

I prefer Jrock myself. X Japan, Asian Kung-fu Generation, L'arc En Ciel, Dir En Grey, and Luna Sea, but now I dont listen to it anymore.

Megumi Hayshibara...She's done songs for many anime titles...Nice voice...
I don't understand a damn thing since I don't take up Japanese, but to my ears, it sounds a hell of alot better than much of the American pop that pollutes the airwaves... ![]() Yui Horie is also another good J-Pop singer... "I just want to lie in my own crusty filth, eating rancid egg sandwiches, until some unfortunate paramedic has to blow down my door to find my bloated and pasty corpse wedged between the nightstand and mattress stained with Bengay and Robitussin DM." - Greg Gutfeld on sex and seniors "Syphilis does not stay in Vegas. Debt collectors do not stay in Vegas. Dead hookers stay in Vegas, but the guilt stays with you forever." - Bill Schultz |
