Internet
Hi, sorry to bother again.
Since my last post, my radio had been broadcasting just fine, with no problems, until my internet went down. Since it came back up, i have had the same freaking troubles i had at the beggining, such as the nak-firewall issue that a lot of ppl seem to have. i also noticed that my ip changed, and its not the one that used to broadcast on before. Any suggestions? |

I have some suggestions, but they're shots in the dark:
Just for the heck of it, try to use a port other than 8000 to bind the server -- Some ISPs block certain ports at different times to curtail worms consuming bandwidth on their network -- keep the number above 1024, but stay away from ports commonly used for P2P -- 8000,8001 are common proxy ports and router config ports. I would also pay some attention to your router logs, especially the inbound log that should report the incoming hits on your IP... you do not want to use a port that is being flooded... When specifying the "forward" of ports to the DNAS you usually have to specify an IP to send the redirected port to -- If your DNAS is on a PC that depends on DHCP [automatic IP assignment], you have no gurantee that your PC will get the proper LAN IP everytime -- bettter to assign a static IP to any PC that requires forwarded ports at the router. Likewise in the DNAS config, specify "all" IPs so that you use all of the PCs useful IPs no matter what they are, Specifying a range of forwarded ports "around" the DNAS port number [TCP] may help, depending on how your particular router impliments the network address translation [NAT] feature. Lastly, if you are having touble with your internet connection, and it is not stable, you will have trouble knowing when the problem is your ShoutCAST setup or your ISP just having a bad hair day -- I only see this message: "[yp_add] error connecting to yp.shoutcast.com", when either something is wrong with the ShoutCAST directory, or my internet connection is down when I connect my DSP to the DNAS. You could be having connection issues. /* v2 HTML5 / Player test pages DigitalMixNYC, DigitalMixNYCbx | DNAS Status: Now Playing js codes (scaststatus_X.php) | PortForward.com | Upload/Download Speed Test | No-IP.com: Free Dynamic DNS | In the YP | dnasDir */ |
