FUZZY Sound when input device is "Sound Card Input" but clear when in "winamp" m

in shoutcast source options, whenever i use winamp as the input device, it is perfectly clear for the listener. However, when it's "soundcard input" the music is really fuzzy. I wouldn't mind it but i really want to talk with the mic and i can't do in winamp mode by turning up the mic. It doesn't pick up the mic but it works fine in "soundcard input" but the sound is so fuzzy. Can anyone help me on this one???

How can i get the clear sound with mic options? Is there a program so i can use the mic while in "winamp" mode?

There may be a few things wrong..

The cable from the mic to computer may be bad, the connect into the computer may be bad, or (the most likely one) the soundcard is "bad." Are you able to use another?
