Pulled Commercial
http://www.z95.com/upload/tv_spot_hospital.mov
The Nurses' Union demanded that the ad get pulled off air, and got what they wanted. Do you think it was really harming anyone? I found the ad to be quite funny, When I heard it was pulled all I said was "They have no sense of humor." |

I chuckled...don't really see why it would offend anyone. If anything, I want to go to the hospital now..

The world is full of whiners and "PC" idiots.
When will they allow kids to pick on one another in grade school again so everyone can learn to deal with it. Suburbia: The place where they clear down trees and then name roads after them |

I voted yes for the simple reason that I don't like TV commercials. Any excuse for banning any commercial is a good excuse.

Balls, this PC I'm using doesn't have quicktime. Don't bother uploading it in a different format cos it doesn't have speakers either.

It's nurses dancing around in their tight little uniforms to music, and then a old man in a wheel chair asks for a sponge bath.
NE1 know what they are trying to promote? Suburbia: The place where they clear down trees and then name roads after them |

It's an ad for a radio station. I'd rather see that than Fox's "Fair and Balanced" Fairy tale.

Here in St. Louis we have this commercial for 'Becky's Carpet and Tile". It's one of those only at late night commercials and this chick is flying around on a carpet through the Gateway Arch, wearing a crown and was as large as a herd of buffalo.
Well, about a month or two back this company called VIP (an adult 'toy' store) got the infamous Ron Jeremy to come and do a commercial for their store. It had RN Jeremy in a dress with a crown over his head pretty much imitating Becky. Needless to say it never got aired and really in no way offensive at all. Queen Becky, well she saw it another way and being a late night icon (along with the used-car selling dog Buckley and various pawn shops and ****** commercials) demaned it be taken off the air and it was never aired. http://vipxxx.com/WindowsLarge.html Enjoy, it might be the only time you'll ever see Ron Jeremy in a dress. We need more political correctness in the world!
And I need more cases of Midol I can mail to people who would agree! (To ease their pu**y aching.)

Anyhow, back on the topic, I really don't get why nurses would get their panties all up in a bunch over this 25 second commercial... This is a sig of some nature. |

No, the advert's for a magazine.
What's the problem you're getting? Any error messages? What version of Media Player Classic & RealAlternative are you using? It worked fine for me with fairly recent versions. |

Every profession gets criticised / made fun of / belittled / stereotyped at some point or another. That's the way it is - you shouldn't take one advert as a personal dig against your friend, what they do and all of their hard work.

The "Nurse" as "cupcake" went out with highbutton shoes.
You have the right to think it's ok; I have the right to think it belongs in the "not funny anymore" category! And the inclusion of male nurses as chorus boys goes to another sterotype! You're a straight white male aren't ya'?

Maybe.
But one look at British Friday night evening TV confirms that some gay people definitely don't have a problem with the stereotype: if you can, watch Friday Night With Jonothan Ross to see some very talented, and totally camp, Four Gay Guys And A Piano, who do all the linking music for the guests (and looked like they were enjoying themselves when Ian McKellen (Gandalf) came on the show a while back... So yes, stereotypes still do exist in this day and age, but what makes it so great is that tolerance abounds also. Many people get portrayed unfairly or in a biased manner, such is life. If you really dislike it, file a complaint with the advertising standards agency. ... Which makes me think, do you have an advertising standards agency? |

When I tune in SNL, South Park, or something where that
kind of humour is not only expected, it's encouraged that to me is fun! But for a paid T.V. ad. I think it's a no-no! It's not even funny, it's just tacky! |

I installed an earlier version of QTAlt, and finally saw it.
Widdykats, what exactly do you and your nurse friend find offensive about it? |
