ID3 Tag Questions / Smart Playlists / Etc
First of all - GREAT plugin! I just ditched iTunes since I have no need for it now. Between this and Anapod Explorer, I should be quite set for a long time!
Anyways, to my questions. I've noticed that Winamp 5.05 doesn't seem to recognize my Track Number tag unless my files have ID3 v1. I use Helium 2 to tag my files and that seemed to be what caused it. I'm wondering if the iPod or Winamp really supports ID3 v2 tags or the latest version of these tags. This would make Smart Playlists MUCH more effective than just the 20 fields available. I'm not being picky or complaining at all, but I don't want to spend a lot of time adding a whole lot of tags if I can't use them! There's a list here of all of the tags that Helium 2 supports. Any info on this would rock! |

My Winamp recognizes all id3 v2.3 tags like it should, but does not recognize iTunes (id3 v2.4) tags like disc number, 'sound check', or the compilation flag. However, both track numbers and total tracks in id3 v2 (eg "3 of 14") work fine in Winamp. What kind of iPod, and what OS?

Download ID3TagIT, select all your music, go to Extended Functions, then Transfer Tags. Now hit v2.4 to v2.3. Then do v2.3 to v1.
Now all your tags are in ID3 v1 and ID3 v2.3 [First Post ]
