Yea it was. Jesus, 14 innings and one hit to outfeild does it.

Last night the same guy that hit the game running ball hit the game running home run in the 12th inning.

Boston Red Sox. Baseball.

They won Game 5 of the ALCS 5-4 in the bottom of the 14th inning. Game time was around 5 hours and 50 minutes.

A cricket game is usually about five days long. They get tea breaks. Long ones

But, yeah, I've been trying to watch this series. Go Boston

Cricket can take many forms, there are the five day test matches, which obviously go on for five days or so, but there are also one day matches where each side has a set amount of bowling opportunities, there are even instances these days of speed cricket, where it's played with even faster.

You'll also probably never see Cricket played outside of what was the old British colonial sphere of influence, places like Australia, Pakistan, India, the west Indies etc etc, anywhere the British Empire and rule used to be in force, yes it's played elsewhere, but you don't get anywhere near as big a following as you do in the 'old empire' regions.

I love a game of cricket, used to play at school, great game, nothing beats the smack of leather on willow on a hot sunny afternoon...

/Fact for Jaz, I share my real life name with a famous Aussie cricket player

anybody else get the feeling that Boston is going to strech the series to game 7 and then lose in the late innings? I just don't think that the curse will be broken this year.

Yes, knowing the Red Sox, they'll find some way not to win.

All the yankee fans here in NY are pretty pissed that they didn't do it. Only 3 teams in history have taken a 3-0 series to game six.

Come again?

Boston wins Game 6 4-2 at NY. Boston becomes the first team to come back from 3-0 to force a game 7.

I'm seriously thinking about watching game 7 naked, hoping that it gives off good luck vibes or something like that.

Go Boston

I have a feeling that either NY will crush them or it will be very close and Boston will nudge it out. Its nice that the game probably wont be decided before the 7th inning. To bad I won't be able to watch it.

While I'm not a big Boston fan (Manny Ramierez is a sell-out.), it is always fun to see the Yankees lose, especially when they go down so miserably. Go Sox!

Manny Ramirez is one fine baseball player. I don't care what you think about him otherwise, you can't deny that.

@Widdy, I'm a Jets and Islanders fan too. I've always liked the mets for some reason. I dunno why. Buckner for mets MVP

Yes, he is an excellent baseball player. I saw his career take off here in Cleveland before he took off for more money and basically disowned the team that allowed him to shine. And, yes, I'm still just a bit bitter. But, yes, a fine player.

The curse of the Bambino is that Boston wouldn't win another World Series without him. So, that's one reason why I'm rooting for them. Plus, it's AL all the way for me in W.S.

I said a really bad word in front of the rugrat when I saw the two runs on Pedro Martinez

My heart breaks for poor Jaz, deprived of his cricket, still I suppose there are other benefits.....

Heres a pic or two of Michael Bevan to keep him going..
