800x600 Touch Screen Friendly Skins?
Hiya Folks. Noob here. After a couple of hours searching the boards, and downloading various skins, I thought maybe I would ask this:
I have an 800x600 12" Touchscreen I want to use to control winamp. Does anyone recommend a skin that is full screen, and touch friendly? (Decent sized buttons, not too close together, Cosmetically appealing, HTPCish, etc.) I am not asking for this to be made, as I sure there has to be tons of them out there, but darnit, I can seem to find any gooders. Thanks in advance for those who have recommendations! |

Any skin could work well if you'd increase the scaling.

Well this may not be what you want but we've done windows media player party mode skins that are all full screen. You would have to have the Microsoft Plus! Digital Media Edition. Here's our portfolio: http://www.theskinsfactory.com/skins...folio&type=ppm

@leechbite: I see that you've got the skin up now... but, it might be me not seeing it, does it support the touch screen issue?

siebe83 is right, anunaki has right-click option on almost every spot.
![]() it's amazing to know that you need to pay to get a party mode in WMP and you can get free with Winamp.

same problem
hey hey,
i have the same problem, and similar hardware as the owner of this thread... im running a 12.1 LCD with touchscreen in my car, running 800x600 resolution, with winamp as the media player... now, i can double-size the player, and with winamp 5 ive managed to make the "add, rem, misc" buttons on the bottom of the playlist larger using the "wasabi_player" which-by the way, loads slow as hell, but its the damn playlist scroller on the side, that ill be damned if i can make it bigger...(sorry bout the profanities-long frustrating nite with this) it really wants to be about the same size as the other buttons (being doublesized) someone, must know how to tweek that? but ive noticed almost every skin has simply recycled or recolored the same tired buttons, so were stuck with the same sizing...ugh! anyway, if i knew the first thing about skinning from scratch i would, or will make one...but, i figured there is a value somewhere i can edit...anyone know the answer? |

CarPuter interface
I have a carputer built and I've been using WinAmp with some of the builtin skins with not the greatest of success. The buttons are way too small. I've found a nice skin on here that could serve as the springboard:
WinPlain skins on WinAmp.com Attached is a quick PhotoShopped bitmap showing what buttons would need to be removed and added. I too am having the same problem with buttons being too small, buttons not being intuitive (i.e. randomize), and fonts being too small. This skin appears to use TrueType Fonts all over so it scales well, but the title area is still too small. I like the text labels because it lets others quickly figure out how to use the carputer aside from me. If I think of this project in terms of a requirements document, here's what I came up with:

I've been working on a skin for this same purpose for about the last eight months or so. I still (STILL!!) don't have the graphics the way I want, but the whole thing is designed for touch-screen use and is very easy to navigate. There are labels for the other buttons that are currently on there, but eventually all the buttons are going to be redesigned, as soon as I come up with a design I like. The size is 800 x 550, to allow for the taskbar on the bottom. The color is a little choppy because I reduced the color count on the screenshot to make it small enough to upload.
