Help! Setting up FightRealmRadio please!!

ok heres the deal umm im really not shure if i can put shoutcast server on my server or not
im paying for a server
at http://www.ionhosting.com i have the big package
still not shure if i can do it, is someone could please look and tell me if i can or not id be very thankfull
my website is www.fightrealm.com

ok if i can do it witch version do i download?

and is there anything i need to do,to set it up other than edit that config file?

p.s.err i dont think i can run exacutables on the server not shure though

Do you have Telnet/SSH/SH (shell) access?
(FTP is not Telnet)

Servers which only have "web access" are no good

No, even if you could run it your host wouldn't like it, you need to buy some seperate Stream Hosting.

what about hosting it 24 7 off my pc an letting others dj off my server?

You can run it off your private PC, in fact, many here do.. but this will severely limit you as your home connection is not going to allow any more than a few listeners on at the same time.. Also, setting up the server on your box is "tricky" at best.. and its recommended that the "broadcasting server" NOT be behind a router.

If you have your own REAL T1 or better connection and you have a PC directly-connected with its OWN non-shared STATIC IP then thats a whole different situation altogether!
