Was Darwin Wrong?

For long you live and high you fly, but only if you ride the tide, and balanced on the biggest wave you race towards an early grave.

I'm tempted to say that it's "just" a theory.

A theory with enough credible evidence that every (afaik) accredited university in the country supports.

I think it's a bad argument to compare the theory of evolution and the theory of relativity. Relativity is a mathematical formula that equations can be run amd then the results can be tested in an experiment. Or is that wrong?

Evolution is a theory about the origin of life on this planet, there aren't any numbers to run, there's no equation to plug it into and then test the results, like if life started on x billion years BC and evolution occurs at a rate of y, and extinction occurs at a rate of z then we could run that equation and get the number of different species that should exist on the planet today. right?

I'm not saying evolution is wrong, I'm saying it's a poor comparison.

or are there equations that can be run using the theory of evolution?

imho relativity is much harder to proove that evolution, because relativity doesnt make sense when distances are very small, that where string teory comes in, but thats another subject and discussion.
For me evolutions has be pooven enough, already comparing DNA-s of spicies is proof enough... if your not familiar with darwn theory you really should read about it, it makes a lot of sense.
I cant think how somebody could possiby believe in sucha *cough*bullshit as creational evolution, ofcourse 'merica is quite a surprising country

Now i better run now, late to school

Was Darwin Wrong? As a Christian I can say no.
But then again, Darwin never said anything about the evolution of all spieces from a primordial soup.
Darwin wouldn't recognize his theory today. But then again, Darwin was a priest, not an atheist.

LOL shaky_snake and Mattress. Perhaps some study of closed systems, synchronisation in nature, complex systems and perhaps evolution would mean you didn't make yourself look foolish in the future.

You'll have to find a copy of that article, cause it does say that Darwin did study to become a pastor, but after his travels, became an agnostic. But, he never said it outloud cause his wife would've whupped him one. She was a firm church-goer

Don't go talking about things you clearly don't understand.

This part of thermodymanics is relating to fact that heat is the most disordered form of energy. And that when energy is transformed from one form to another, some is wasted as heat.

This does NOT refer to the organisation of atoms in beings and planets.

The earth is not a closed system, the sun dumps HUGE amounts of energy on the earth every day.

I Guess You'll Have To Wait And Find Out The Real Truth On Darwin's Theory..100% Factual..

The consideration to that *Fact* is this though.....

Matter is a form of energy, but the organisation of matter does not contribute to its entropy. (on the human scale, at least)

Entropy is about ENERGY not evolution.

You're right, and eventually the sun will burn out and that will be the end of life on Earth.

Yes, Darwin was wrong. Dinosaurs are just a conspiracy to throw us off...

Alex Jones: Do you want the puppet on the right or the puppet on the left? What a bunch of garbage; liberal democrat, conservative, republican. It's all there to control you! Two sides of the same coin. Two management teams bidding for control, the CEO job of Slavery, Incorporated! The truth is out there in front of you, but they lay out this buffet of lies. I'm sick of it, and I'm not going to take a bite out of it, do you got me?

76% of America doesn't believe in evolution? That's crazy! I'm a practicing Catholic and I believe in evolution. Going by what my Theology teacher taught me last year, so does the Catholic Church, at least to an extent. It only contends that God directed the course of evolution and was responsible for the creation of the basic components from which we evolved. The Bible's Creationistic principles are antequated and now really only serve the purpose of teaching about God's love, etc.

However, I can be horribly, horribly wrong on my understanding of Evolution, so please forgive me if that is the case.

Only 37 percent of the polled Americans were satisfied with allowing room for both God and Darwin—that is, divine initiative to get things started, evolution as the creative means. (This view, according to more than one papal pronouncement, is compatible with Roman Catholic dogma.)
