Worried about Winamp

I recently found out about a new media player that some say is better than Winamp. I believe the developers of Winamp should know so they can contimue to develop Winamp so that it's better than this new one. I could post the url for the other media player here but I don't want to be perceived as advertising. Would someone of the development team please send me a private message on the board?

Thank you
Michael T.

correct

Yes, correct on the second guess. And please nobody take this as me trashing Winamp or the team that develops the media player that's my fav, but I recently read an article where the original team that first developed Winamp is gone. If this is true or not, I don't know. But there seems to be (from what I read) speculation that it's only a matter of time before Winamp is discontinued comepletely. Winamp has it's problems yes, but that's the whole reason to keep making it better. I webcast and haven't updated just yet. I still have version 5.01 installed and that crashed on me the other morning. Personally I want to see Winamp continue to thrive. It's not that big as compared to the screen shots I've seen of this quin(however the name is spelled).

Quintessential player isn't exactly new (nor is it particularly good imo).

And its default skin has to be the ugliest UI ever, if it was yellow it could easily pass as a Vogon ship.

i just installed both players. i don't like foobar's UI and the same goes with quintessential. i think quintessential is better than foobar though. i don't think any of these players will surpass winamp any time soon although quintessential will probably have a better chance.

There is no sig.

so, gaekwad, what the hell are you doing on these forums?

I like foobar as an absolutely nonbloated testplayer, i use it for calibrating my surround system etc. I also preview tracks with it as i don't want to mess up my winamp stats .
The GUI doesn't bother me, if you count out that stupid "volume control issue".
