Try to play streams, get "Sorry, can't disc write shoutcast streams..."
Okay, a new fresh piece of Hell has taken posession of my WinAmp 5.01 (Windoze XP). Out of the blue, when I try to play almost any stream, I get the following error:
"Sorry, can't disc write shoutcast streams." WTF? What could I have done to cause this? Please just tell me what to change where. BTW I have the full, paid version of WinAmp. Please help! Thank you, Winampers/Shoutcasters.... |

Go to Preferences > Plug-Ins > Output and select DirectSound or (if using Windows 9x/me) WaveOut.

Well, that was odd, but all's well that ends, I suppose....
Geekwad,
Thank you, you are da bomb. Pls. e-mail me your Amazon Tip Jar thingy if you have one, or whatever, as I owe you a beer. Seriously, all I did was go into the plug in and hit "apply" for everything I already thought was running...I am now happilly listening to SOMA FM in my living room on my real grown-up speakers instead of the little postage-stamp aenimic thingies on my laptop. |
