sounds like you need to get a program that will adjust the wav sound to the level you want it at all the time and if it spikes up then just as fast as the spike goes up it needs to turn it back down to the same level you want it at.
in other words an on the fly volume leveler program. it just so happens i know of an old plugin for win amp that will do this. it is called wide & dynmix it is old i think it is 16 bit sound not sure it might work with 32 bit sound. worth a chance though. it has very limited help so read this. it has 2 knobs on the left one for wide stereo or mono keep it pointed to the red dot on top for normal stereo. the second knob is for live or normal sound. like at a live concert or just on your home unit sound. there is a vu meter on the left side in the center section of the panel it shows you how loud the song is when it comes in to the plugin. the two knobs in the center are for your level of dynmixs how high up they go or how low down they go. the vu meter on the right of center is for the loudness of the sound going out of the plugin. the knob on the right is for the volume level you want the plugin to keep it at. that is all it does and it works wonders even though it is one of the older plugins. good luck. edited this in i hope i got here in time for you to get it set up for your party.

Then set them all to not change in the DSP.

cyber is this fixed by either one of the answers you got?
mine about the plugin for winamp or spike's about turning off the level change in dsp? from your 2 hour post. i see you still dont understand what the plugin i said does. it will adjust the volume of the spike's and drops on the fly to keep them the same as what you set with the plugin's volume knob. atleast that is what it is doing on my win98 computer. good luck and hope you get it fixed for cheap. as the only other ways i can think of would be to go to the audio equipment supply store and fork over some dough to get what you want in hardware. |
