Memory???

Got a slight problem here. I've been broadcasting for over 2 years now, and I usually listen to my own stream (just my preference... don't ask) lol. Up until about 2 weeks ago, there was never a problem with listening to my own stream. However, about 2 weeks ago, my ISP increased my download capacity by 33%. Sounds good, eh? Unfortunately, ever since then, when listening to my own stream, I've noticed occassional skipping (about a 1 second skip every 5-10 minutes, on average). Could this be because of possible glitches in my ISP since their upgrade?

More importantly, what I'm basically thinking is I may possibly need more memory on my computer. My MAIN question is: Does computer memory wear out? I mean, after time, does it become less efficient, and require replacement? Memory was never a problem before, but then, I haven't upgraded my memory for over 2 years.

Appreciate any help or suggestions.
