I can recommend Helium v1.6 beta 1 (soon to be released v1.7 beta 1) as the complete (mass) mp3-tagging/renaming program...

quick note sawg: all the forum links are bad. you'll have to update your info for the new boards. (it's lots of fun, you'll see...)

You forgot Tag&Rename: http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm

Hi!
Well done indeed sawg. Just another quick tip, it'd be best to just edit the actual original post. It's bound to confuse people who don't scroll down to the bottom of the thread to see the new links, so maybe ya could just copy & paste everything into the original instead, pretty please. The same applies to anyone else who's editing threads/posts too. If you've all been wondering where I've been over the past few days, well, I've been sorting out TSGH & all the respective links etc. I must have edited about 100 or more threads so far to get rid of all this stupid erroneous ubb imported code & to change over all the internal relevant forum links, etc. I'd say that TSGH should be up & running in a matter of days, we're about ¾ of the way there. What a monster of a task! I can't wait to get back to giving out Tech Support again. I'm sure you're all coping really well without me, ho ho. Tho' I keep having nightmares of returning to the forums after being away for a few days and finding 100's of unanswered or incorrectly answered threads. God forbid! I'll knock up a makeshift new version of the Links to Common Problems & FAQ's masterpiece for everyone to use in the meantime, and will post it tomorrow eve, all being well. It's been hellish trying to find all the correct url's, so if anyone's got any that they know to be missing from the list, post them in that thread & we'll take it from there. All the old missing links will be bracketed & disabled for now 'til we find their new locations. Cheers -> DJ-Egg [edit] I've edited sawg's original post above to include all the correct links. Not even "major dudes"? Bah! Pffffffffffffft! I'll sort it out tomorrow, unless someome else can oblige in the meantime. Cheers -> Egg. ps. Makeshift "Links to Common Problems & FAQ's" = up now! pps. Winsane, maybe you can help us find a few (of "your") threads. If so, goto TSGH - ASAP. |

I prefer Tag&Rename. Before I got it, I did all the work myself... no fun at all, but now with the click of a button I can retag, using my name format, thousands of mp3's at a time. Believe me, I have done a thousand at a time too.

Reversal of the Usual Plan
Can any of these programs write id3 tags from the filename?

Helium is truly the most powerful manager out there.
It might look difficult to work with for beginners, but after 5 minutes you understand which features you should use for your specific needs. |
