Any Plugins or Method to Check Another Files MD5, SHA1 or CRC-32 Checksum?

Hello NSIS Users,

I am guessing this has probably never been asked. If I am wrong I need coffee... Is there anyway to check a files hash or checksum (not the installer itself).

I need to check the file and if it is untampered with, move ahead, otherwise, prompt the user. Any tips, tricks and hints are appreciated!

http://nsis.sourceforge.net/wiki/MD5_plugin
"Generates a md5 value from either a string or contents of specified file."
I don't know what means 0.3 in the file name, but may be this is not version number

Great find Takhir!

I've actually already had this plugin on my system but didn't have any extra info to go with it. After searching in the Wiki and here on the forums I just coudln't find what was already under my nose!

Thank you for pointing that out, it is perfect!

Best Regards!

yes the 0.3 is just a version number (of the plugin), to help distinguish each improvement (size reduction, new function, etc) or bug fix from earlier releases
