Can't eject iPod with ml_ipod 1.2
Since I upgraded ml_ipod to 1.2, I can no longer eject my iPod from within Winamp, nor can I eject the iPod while Winamp is running.
In case it matters, it's a 3rd gen 15G iPod (w/dock), updated, connecting via FireWire to a WinXP Pro SP2 computer. |

I don't just unplug the iPod. What I have been doing is after closing Winamp, I've been using Windows' 'Eject hardware'.
But this in no way addresses the BUG of the 'eject ipod' command not working from Winamp. |

I have the same problem - can't eject and I can't find another way to disconnect without just unplugging the iPod. I have Win ME, a 40GB iPod Photo and Winamp 5. The eject button just produces the Error: Could not eject iPod message. I couldn't find anything related to Eject Hardware on Windows but did try removing hardware. That didn't turn off the "no entry" sign on the iPod but it did stop Winamp from seeing it. Any help much appreciated.

Alternately, right-click on the iPod in Windows Explorer and choose the Eject option from there. |

Thanks - can now get a message on the PC saying the disk is shut down and safe to disconnect, but the iPod still has the "Do Not Disconnect" sign on it. According to the iPod manual you can still disconnect it like this, it just feels wrong though.

What happens to me, is I can eject it from Winamp until I've changed something. This leads me to believe ml_ipod has left a connection open that should be closed.

I just make sure I shutdown Winamp before unplugging. If your removal setting is on in the devices configuration, you should be okay. I'm too lazy to look up where that setting is but if you really want to know PM me and I'll find it for you.
I have to do it because my taskbar icon disappears too. |
